Sample transfer
The sample transfer will differ depending on the samplerod and environment currently in use. Please not the differences when indicated
Please continue working on the list below.
Using the quickgui, Move manipulator rod up to the samples transfer position (a_mp1_y = 374 mm), and then change to the following positions:
Sample transfer positions for the low temperature head at 10 K:
a_mp1_x = 66.65 mm
a_mp1_y = 374 mm
a_mp1_z = 17.5 mm
a_mp1_yaw = 2 deg (tightening / loosing the screw to secure / unsecure the sample plate. A quater of a turn is enough)
a_mp1_yaw = 357 deg (to insert / remove sample plate)
NOTE: Do not close valve between experimental chamber and upper chamber.
Make sure that the load lock (LL) pressure is in the order of 10^-7 mbar.
Open the valve between the LL and upper chamber.
Tight/un-tight: in the position for which you tighten the screw, you locate the single screw “behind” the sample holder head from the view port point of view, i.e. when reaching for the screw the point of the wobble stick will be hidden by the sample plate.
Take out the sample plate (assuming you have already un-tight the screw, and now, you are at a_mp1_yaw = 357 deg). Put it in the sample garage in LL. Cleave or exfoliate the new sample inside the LL and transfer it to the upper chamber. Rotate the manipulator to a_mp1_yaw = 2, and tight the screw.
Now its time to lower the manipulator again to the measurement conditions. Make sure to change a_mp1_x = 79 mm before lowering the manipulator.
a_mp1_yaw at normal incidence (90 deg grazing) = 261 deg, and at 0 deg grazing, a_mp1_yaw = 171 deg.
