# General information of 3D printer at veritas This documents sumamried information about 3D printer at Veritas beamine which is in the room A101436 near veritas control room. It is the same room that the Laue diffraction machine is installed. Please contact a beamline staff before start printing. Sometimes, the printer is reserved for urgent printing for user beamtime and/or urgent fix. ## 【UltiMaker S7 Basic Specifications】 https://ultimaker.com/3d-printers/s-series/ultimaker-s7/ - Technology: Fused Filament Fabrication (FFF) / Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM) - Print head: Dual-extrusion print head with an auto-nozzle lifting system and swappable print cores - Build volume (X × Y × Z): 330 × 240 × 300 mm - Layer resolution: 20 - 600 microns (Depending on the nozzle size; 20 - 200 microns when using the standard 0.4 mm nozzle) - XYZ resolution: 6.9 microns (X), 6.9 microns (Y), 2.5 microns (Z) - Build plate: PEI-coated heated flexible build plate (Temperature range: 20 - 140 °C). Connect Wifi spot for the printer (You can connect around Verias beamline. pelase ask beamline staff for detail) 2. Prepare and Send the Print Job
Load your 3D model into UltiMaker Cura, configure your material and print settings, and click the Slice button. Once the slicing is complete, go to the action panel and select Print via network. 3. Monitor the Print
The UltiMaker S7 will automatically receive the file and begin preparing for the print, which includes preheating the print cores and performing active leveling on the build plate. You can track the live progress of your print directly from the Monitor stage in UltiMaker Cura or through the UltiMaker Digital Factory. ## [How to Print Using a USB Drive] 1. Print Preparation (UltiMaker Cura)
Load your 3D model into the print preparation software, UltiMaker Cura, configure your settings, and press the "Slice" button. When slicing is complete, save the file to a USB drive. 2. Connecting the USB Drive
Insert the USB drive into the USB port located on the front of the UltiMaker S7. 3. Touchscreen Operation and Starting the Print
On the printer's touchscreen, navigate to the Status overview menu. From here, you can start a print from the USB by selecting your saved print job. 4. Automatic Preparation and Printing
Once the file is selected, the UltiMaker S7 will automatically prepare for printing. This process includes preheating the print cores and build plate, as well as performing active leveling (probing the build plate in several locations) to ensure optimal print adhesion. The print will automatically begin once this preparation is complete. ## [Removing the Completed Print from the Build Plate] **Note: DO NOT USE metal tool to remove printed ocjects. It will make damage on the build plate. it is weaker than your Teflon coated Frying Pan**
**Note: DO NOT WASH the build plate. It will cause damage of the build plate.** 1. Wait for the build plate to cool down
The UltiMaker S7 display will explicitly indicate when it is safe to remove the build plate. Warning: The build plate can reach temperatures of over 100 °C, so never attempt to remove it when it is still hot to prevent burning your hands. 2. Remove the flexible build plate
Open the glass door of the printer. Hold the flexible build plate by the tabs at the front, lift it up, and gently slide it out of the printer. 3. Detach the printed object
Carefully bend the flexible plate underneath the printed object until it detaches from the build plate. 4. Finalize the process
Once the print is off the build plate, remove any brims and support structures. Place the flexible build plate back into the printer and select Confirm removal on the UltiMaker S7 display. This will allow the next print job to start.
